Staples (s SPLS) and RadioShack (RSH) are pulling Amazon (s AMZN) Lockers from their stores about a year after installing them, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
The program « didn’t meet the criteria we set up together, » Demos Parneros, Staples’ president of North American stores online, told Bloomberg.
Customers can ship products directly to Amazon Lockers and pick them up there. The service is aimed at apartment dwellers who don’t have doormen to sign for packages. Amazon Lockers can also be found at many 7-Elevens and other locations — a search for lockers near me in Manhattan turned them up at a number of grocery stores, Rite Aids and copy shops.
